What to expect:
A fun, casual game jam where we’ll introduce you to Unity and use the Karting Micro-Game Template and the Karting Mods as a starting point to create and personalize your game.

The longer you jam, the more tricked out your game will be. We’ll introduce brand new Karting Mods every 30 minutes - we’re talking speed booster pads, custom triggers, cool props, animation and more. By the end, you’ll have made a customized fully playable and shareable game.

If you have questions leading up to the event, reach out to us in the Karting Creators Group:

Q: Do I need any Unity or programming experience to attend?
A: Nope! This jam is for people who are brand new to Unity (and programming). Just show up and follow along as we guide you through the process of getting Unity and customizing your very own Kart racing game.

Q: Do I need to download Unity before the jam?
A: Nope! You can do that along with us on jam day (as long as you have a good internet connection). 25+mbps internet speed will allow you to download and install Unity in less than 10 minutes. If you have a slower connection, then you might want to install Unity ahead of time

Q: What other system requirements are there to install Unity?

Q: How long is the jam?
A: We’ll be jamming for about 3 hours.

Q: Will it be recorded/published?
A: We will publish the recording unlisted. We’ll post the link in the Karting Creators Group sometime after the jam.

Q: What is a game jam?
A: This game jam is unique because it’s hosted online, it’s for beginners, it’s short, and we know what we’re going to show you. A *traditional* game jam is an in-person event where you would typically gather with more experienced programmers, game designers, artists, etc. to create a game from scratch within a time span averaging 24-72 hours.
